Non-CTL means this breaker lacks a rejection clip. It is specifically designed for older, pre-1968 Type BR load centers that do not have notched bus bars. It allows you to add circuits to older panels that are fully utilized.
Can the BR2030 replace obsolete Bryant or Westinghouse tandem breakers?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse, Bryant, and Challenger electrical distribution lines. The Eaton BR series is the official, UL-listed replacement for legacy Bryant BR, Westinghouse Type BR, and Challenger Type C breakers with matching specifications.
How many panel spaces does the BR2030 require?
This tandem breaker provides two independent circuits, one 20A and one 30A, while only occupying a single 1-inch slot in the load center.
Can I install the non-CTL BR2030 in a modern Eaton BR load center?
No. Modern Eaton BR panels are Circuit Total Limiting (CTL) and require tandem breakers with rejection clips, such as the BD series. The BR2030 is strictly for replacement use in older, non-CTL panels.
Does a fault on one circuit trip both circuits on the BR2030?
No. The BR2030 features independent trip mechanisms. An overload or short circuit on the 20A line will trip that specific circuit without interrupting power to the 30A line.
Can the BR2030 be used to supply a 240V multi-wire branch circuit?
No. Because both the 20A and 30A circuits connect to the same bus stab in a single 1-inch space, they are on the same phase. They provide 120VAC only and cannot be used for 240V loads or multi-wire branch circuits that share a neutral.

Expedited Shipments
