Engineered to restore safe operation in older commercial facilities, the NBGF15 provides reliable 15-amp circuit control and 5mA ground fault protection. This single-pole unit helps maintain compliance with modern electrical codes for areas requiring GFCI safety measures. The bolt-on design installs into legacy Federal Pacific NBLP panelboards without requiring aftermarket adapters. It serves as an exact match for aging infrastructure and crosses to the UBIF015N substitute.
The NBGF15 is a bolt-on GFCI breaker designed specifically for use in legacy Federal Pacific NBLP panelboards.
How does the NBGF15 connect to the panel neutral?
This GFCI breaker includes a pigtail neutral wire that must be connected directly to the neutral bus bar in the panelboard to ensure proper ground fault detection.
What level of ground fault protection does the NBGF15 provide?
It provides 5mA ground fault protection, which is the standard threshold for Class A personnel protection against electrical shock.
Are there alternate catalog numbers for the NBGF15?
Yes, this 15-amp Federal Pacific GFCI breaker is also referenced by alternate part numbers including NBGF111015, NBGF115, and 1NBGF15.
Are original Federal Pacific NBGF breakers still manufactured?
No, original Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) breakers are obsolete and no longer manufactured. Replacements are sourced to maintain existing NBLP panelboards still in service.
Can I use a plug-in Stab-Lok breaker in place of the NBGF15?
No. The NBGF15 features a bolt-on connection type specific to NB-frame and NBLP panelboards. Standard plug-in Stab-Lok breakers will not mount correctly in these bolt-on panels.
What do the LIG trip functions indicate on this breaker?
LIG stands for Long-Time, Instantaneous, and Ground Fault. This indicates the thermal-magnetic trip unit provides standard overload and short-circuit protection, alongside dedicated ground fault interruption.
