Sourced for legacy electrical systems, the 45A Federal Pacific component provides reliable thermal-magnetic protection. It handles standard residential loads requiring a single-pole configuration. This unit installs into original FPE Stab-Lok load centers without requiring aftermarket adapters. It serves as an alternative to the UBIF045N substitute. Featuring a thin half-inch per pole footprint, it maximizes available space while delivering a 10kA interrupting capacity at 120VAC.

Product FAQs
6 answers
What is the direct aftermarket cross-reference for the Federal Pacific NC045?
The Connecticut Electric UBIF045N is a direct aftermarket replacement for the FPE NC045. It is designed to fit the same Stab-Lok load centers and matches the 1/2-inch thin profile.
What is the difference between Federal Pacific NC and NA series breakers?
The NC series features a thin, 1/2-inch wide wafer-style body per pole, allowing for high-density configurations. The NA series breakers are standard 1-inch wide per pole. Both use the Stab-Lok mounting design, but they require different panel slot spacing.
Which electrical panels accept the NC045 circuit breaker?
This breaker is compatible exclusively with classic Federal Pacific Stab-Lok load centers that are designed to accept 1/2-inch wide thin breakers. It will not fit in modern panels from other manufacturers.
Are there safety concerns associated with older Federal Pacific Stab-Lok panels?
Yes. Many industry professionals and inspectors note that original FPE Stab-Lok panels and breakers have a documented history of failing to trip under overcurrent conditions, posing latent fire hazards. Electricians often recommend evaluating the entire panel for replacement rather than just swapping individual breakers.
How does the NC045 mount into the load center?
It utilizes the proprietary FPE Stab-Lok plug-on mounting system. The breaker stabs directly into the busbar without the need for mounting screws or bolt-on connections.
What does the LI trip function code mean on this breaker?
The LI designation indicates that the breaker uses a thermal-magnetic trip unit providing Long-Time thermal protection against sustained overloads and Instantaneous magnetic protection against short circuits.

Purchased four circuit breakers
Was happy with all the service would’ve wished the person would inform me if I would’ve spent $15 more I could’ve got free shipping. That way I could’ve ordered another 20 amp circuit breaker. And got it for free.

Federal Pacific breakers
I wasn't sure about ordering my particular breakers online because they don't make replica replacements but found the warranty outstanding. The follow-up call as a new customer and the speed with which my order was processed and completed was superior. The price was 1/3 what the ONE local supplier charged.
