Manufactured by Siemens, this thermal-magnetic unit provides reliable overcurrent protection for residential and commercial applications. It serves as an exact fit for aging infrastructure requiring specific form factors. Designed specifically for Pushmatic load centers, it mounts securely using a bolt-on connection. This model acts as a seamless substitute for the UBIP270, eliminating the need for complex retrofits. It features a distinctive push-button mechanism and carries an HACR rating.
What electrical panels are compatible with the ITE 11270 circuit breaker?
This breaker is designed exclusively for Pushmatic load centers. It will fit older Bulldog, ITE, and Siemens Pushmatic panels that accept Type P2 bolt-on breakers. It is not compatible with standard plug-on or modern DIN rail panels.
How does the Pushmatic P270 breaker connect to the panel busbar?
The P270 features a positive bolt-on connection. Instead of snapping onto the busbar like modern residential breakers, it must be securely bolted down to ensure a reliable electrical connection and prevent arcing.
How do I operate and reset this Pushmatic breaker?
Unlike standard toggle breakers, Pushmatic breakers use a push-button mechanism. You press the button to turn the circuit on or off. If the breaker trips, you must push the button firmly to the OFF position to reset the internal mechanism, then push it again to turn it back ON.
Are the ITE 11270 and Siemens P270 the same circuit breaker?
Yes. The P270 is the catalog designation for a 70-amp, 2-pole Pushmatic breaker, while 11270 is the manufacturer part number. Bulldog, ITE, and Siemens all manufactured this exact breaker design before production shifted to aftermarket replacements like the Connecticut Electric UBIP270.
How can I tell if this breaker has tripped?
Pushmatic breakers feature a visual indicator flag next to the push button that displays the current status. When an overload or short circuit occurs, the internal thermal magnetic trip mechanism activates, and the indicator will show that the breaker is no longer in the ON position.
What wire sizes are accepted by the lugs on the P270 breaker?
The terminal lugs on this 70-amp breaker are rated to accept wire ranging from 4 AWG to 1/0 AWG. Always verify that your wire gauge matches the circuit ampacity and local electrical codes.

I needed some filler plates for an older breaker panel. Not available at any retail places I could find, thankfully Superbreakers had them. A couple minor issues: they didn't include the size specifications (L x W x D) online, which would have helped confirm they were the right fit; and they included an unrelated picture (along with the right one).
But the online order processing was easy-to-use and had all the info needed (especially the shipping options/costs, and the return policy). They also stuck to their word about getting it out in 24 hours. It arrived via UPS Ground in a respectful 5 days. They of course fit the panel and all is well.
Overall, very pleased with the company.

The part was correct,, but
The part was correct,, but I was shocked when the cheapest (ground) shipping was almost as much as the part that only weighed 8 ounces. The part was $14.03 and the shipping was almost $13.00.

Happy with my Purchase
This is the 4th time I have used SuperBreakers and have been happy with my purchase every time. I have an old style style system in my house and the company I was using told me the old style breakers were impossible to find and charged me $80 each. Next time I needed one I found SuperBreakers had them for $15 each. I am no longer using that electrical company.
