6 answersWhat load centers are compatible with the Eaton BRL220AF?
This breaker is designed exclusively for Eaton and legacy Cutler-Hammer Type BR load centers. It will not fit Type CH panels or load centers from other manufacturers.
Can I install the BRL220AF in an older Cutler-Hammer BR panel?
Yes. Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer, and current Eaton Type BR breakers are fully backward compatible with older Cutler-Hammer Type BR load centers.
Is the BRL220AF a combination or branch feeder AFCI?
The BRL220AF is a legacy branch feeder AFCI. If your local electrical code requires combination AFCI protection, the direct replacement model is the Eaton BRL220CAF.
How is the neutral connection made on the BRL220AF?
This breaker features a pigtail neutral wire. The coiled white pigtail must be connected directly to the neutral bus bar in the load center to power the internal arc fault sensing circuitry.
Can the BRL220AF be used on multi-wire branch circuits?
Yes. As a 2-pole breaker, it is suitable for 120/240V multi-wire branch circuits that share a single neutral conductor, as well as dedicated 240V loads.
What type of arc fault protection does the BRL220AF provide?
As a branch feeder AFCI, it is designed to detect and mitigate high-current parallel arcing faults in the circuit wiring. It does not provide the low-current series arc detection found in newer combination-type AFCIs.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
