The factory-installed EverLink lugs on this breaker are dual-rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors. They accept wire sizes ranging from 14 AWG up to 3/0 AWG.
Can I use the BDL36090 to replace a legacy FAL36090 circuit breaker?
Yes. The PowerPacT B-frame series is the modern replacement for obsolete Square D F-Frame breakers, including the FAL36090. Because physical dimensions and mounting footprints differ between the two frames, verify space and mounting compatibility within your panel before installation.
How does this breaker mount inside a panel?
The BDL36090 is a unit-mount circuit breaker. It can be installed using traditional back-pan mounting with screws or mounted directly onto a standard DIN rail for installation flexibility.
Can the BDL36090 be reverse fed?
Yes. Standard unit-mount PowerPacT B-frame circuit breakers feature sealed trip units and are suitable for reverse feeding. They can be supplied from either the top or bottom lugs without reducing their protective performance.
Can I add auxiliary contacts or a shunt trip to this breaker?
Yes. The front cover of the PowerPacT B-frame can be removed to accommodate field-installable accessories, including auxiliary switches, alarm contacts, undervoltage releases, and shunt trips, without voiding the UL listing.
Is this circuit breaker 100% rated?
No, the BDL36090 is a standard 80% rated breaker. Per the National Electrical Code (NEC), it should only be loaded continuously (for three hours or more) to a maximum of 80% of its 90A rating.
Is this breaker approved for HVAC equipment?
Yes, this breaker is HACR rated, meaning it is tested and approved for the overcurrent protection of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
Can the BDL36090 be used in direct current (DC) systems?
Yes. In addition to its AC ratings, this thermal-magnetic breaker is certified for use on DC electrical systems up to 250V DC, where it provides a 10 kA interrupting capacity.
What does the "LI" trip function indicate?
The LI designation means the thermal-magnetic trip unit provides Long-Time (L) protection for overloads and Instantaneous (I) protection for short circuits. Both the thermal and magnetic trip thresholds are fixed on this model.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
