Designed for demanding industrial environments, this 70A breaker is a core component of the SACE Tmax XT1 lineup. It mounts securely into ABB enclosures and switchboards, replacing older Tmax T1 series models. This specific configuration utilizes front flat terminals, meaning separate lug kits are required for wire termination. Delivering 25kA interrupting capacity at 480VAC, the double-insulated unit includes a fixed thermal-magnetic trip and supports reverse feed applications.
What panelboards are compatible with the XT1NU3070AFF000XXX circuit breaker?
This breaker is designed for use in ABB SACE Tmax XT panelboards, switchboards, and enclosures. It is also compatible with ABB ReliaGear neXT power panelboards.
Can the ABB Tmax XT1 series replace older GE Spectra RMS circuit breakers?
Yes. Following ABB's acquisition of GE Industrial Solutions, the Tmax XT series is the official replacement for legacy GE Spectra RMS breakers. ABB manufactures specific retrofit kits that allow Tmax XT breakers to be installed into existing Spectra panelboards and switchboards.
What does the "N" in the XT1N frame designation indicate?
The "N" stands for Normal interrupting capacity within the ABB Tmax XT nomenclature. For this specific breaker, it delivers up to 50kAIC at 240VAC and 18kAIC at 600Y/347VAC.
Is the XT1NU3070AFF000XXX rated for use in DC electrical systems?
Yes, this thermal-magnetic breaker is rated for DC applications. It provides an interrupting capacity of 36kA at both 250VDC and 500VDC.
What does the "LI" trip function code mean on this ABB breaker?
The "LI" designation indicates that the thermal-magnetic trip unit provides two specific protection functions: Long-Time (L) for overload protection and Instantaneous (I) for short-circuit protection.
Are the thermal and magnetic trip settings adjustable on the XT1NU3070AFF000XXX?
No. This breaker is equipped with a Fixed Thermal, Fixed Magnetic (TMF) trip unit. Both the long-time overload and instantaneous short-circuit trip functions are factory-set and cannot be field-adjusted.
What wire size range is supported by the standard lugs on this 70A XT1 breaker?
When fitted with standard ABB XT1 mechanical lugs, the terminals accept 10 AWG to 2/0 AWG copper or aluminum conductors.
