Product FAQs
6 answers
Can the thermal and magnetic trip thresholds be adjusted on this XT5 breaker?
Yes. The thermal-magnetic trip unit features an adjustable long-time thermal overload setting and an adjustable instantaneous magnetic short-circuit setting for tailored protection.
What panels and switchboards are designed to accept this 300A breaker?
The XT5HU330ABFN000XXX is engineered for installation in ABB ReliaGear neXT panelboards and compatible switchboards designed to house Tmax XT5 frames.
What wire sizes and materials are permitted for the factory lugs on this breaker?
The pre-installed lugs are rated for both copper and aluminum conductors. Each phase accepts up to two wires ranging from 2/0 AWG to 500 kcmil.
Does this XT5 frame breaker include integral ground fault protection?
No. The standard LI trip unit provides long-time and instantaneous trip functions only. It does not provide built-in ground fault equipment protection.
Is this a plug-in style breaker or a unit mount breaker?
It is a unit mount breaker. It bolts directly to the mounting surface or busbars rather than plugging into a backplane.
Can this Tmax XT5 breaker replace obsolete GE Spectra G-frame breakers?
Yes. The Tmax XT5 series is the direct modern replacement for legacy GE Spectra SG breakers. Installing this unit into an older Spectra power panelboard requires a specific ABB retrofit kit.
