Which panelboards are compatible with the EGH3020FFB circuit breaker?
The EGH3020FFB is a bolt-on EG-frame breaker designed specifically for Eaton Series G and Pow-R-Line panelboards. It fastens directly to the panelboard bus, providing a secure, high-capacity connection for commercial and industrial distribution systems.
Can the EGH3020FFB be mounted on a DIN rail?
Yes, while it is natively a bolt-on EG-frame breaker, it can be DIN rail mounted using the Eaton EGDIN adapter kit (sold separately).
What does the "H" in the EGH3020FFB catalog number signify?
The "H" indicates that this breaker is the high-interrupting tier of the Eaton Series G EG-frame family, providing a 65kAIC rating at 480VAC. This is a higher rating than the standard EGB (18kAIC) or medium EGS (35kAIC) breakers.
Can the EGH3020FFB be reverse fed?
Yes, Eaton Series G EG-frame breakers, including the EGH3020FFB, are suitable for reverse line and load connections.
What does the "LI" trip function code mean on the EGH3020FFB?
The "LI" code stands for Long-Time and Instantaneous trip functions. The Long-Time function protects against sustained overloads, while the Instantaneous function provides immediate tripping during short circuits. Both are fixed (non-adjustable) on this thermal-magnetic breaker.
Does the EGH3020FFB include lugs on both the line and load sides?
No, the "B" suffix in the EGH3020FFB catalog number indicates it is a bolt-on breaker. It includes standard lugs on the load side, but the line side is designed to bolt directly to the bus in compatible panelboards.
Can I use the EGH3020FFB to replace a Cutler-Hammer EGH3020FFB?
Yes. Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer, and the EGH3020FFB is the exact same Series G breaker whether it is branded as Eaton or Cutler-Hammer.
What does the "FF" in the EGH3020FFB catalog number stand for?
The "FF" indicates that both the thermal (overload) and magnetic (short-circuit) trip units are fixed and cannot be adjusted in the field.
