The GHBGFEP1020 provides Ground Fault Equipment Protection (GFEP) with a 30mA trip sensitivity level. It is designed to protect machinery and equipment from damaging arcing faults and is not intended for the 5mA personnel protection required of Class A GFCIs.
How many panel spaces does this single-pole breaker require?
Although it operates as a 1-pole 20A breaker, the GHBGFEP1020 physically requires two pole spaces in the panelboard. The additional space is necessary to accommodate the internal ground fault detection electronics.
What panelboards accept the GHBGFEP1020 breaker?
This G-frame breaker is designed to bolt directly into Eaton Pow-R-Line panelboards, specifically the PRL2a and PRL3a series, as well as Eaton Series C panelboards.
Will the ground fault detection operate on a 120V or 208V circuit?
No. The internal ground fault circuitry is designed specifically for 277VAC systems and requires a minimum of approximately 235VAC to power up. If applied at lower voltages, the breaker will only function as a standard thermal-magnetic overcurrent device and will not detect ground faults.
How do I wire the neutral connection for this breaker?
This breaker features a pigtail neutral wire that must be routed and connected to the neutral bar of the panelboard. This connection provides the necessary reference and power for the internal ground fault monitoring circuitry to function correctly.
What does the LIG trip function indicate on the GHBGFEP1020?
The LIG designation means this breaker is equipped with Long-Time (thermal overload), Instantaneous (magnetic short-circuit), and Ground-Fault trip functions. Both the thermal and magnetic protection levels are fixed, while the equipment ground fault protection triggers at a pre-set 30mA threshold.

Good product, but I was disappointed with the service. I accidentally placed two separate orders and ended up paying freight on both. I had requested that they combine the orders, and had that been done with the freight waived, it would have saved me money.
