This 100A, three-pole breaker includes a factory-installed shunt trip mechanism for enhanced control. The unit installs into Cutler-Hammer Type CH load centers using a plug-on connection. This breaker is designed exclusively for use in Eaton and Cutler-Hammer Type CH load centers. It will not fit in BR series or other manufacturer panels.
How many panel spaces does the CH3100ST require?
Although it is a 3-pole breaker, the integrated shunt trip requires one additional pole space. Therefore, it occupies four 3/4-inch spaces in a Type CH load center.
What does the ST suffix indicate on this breaker?
The ST suffix means the breaker includes a factory-installed shunt trip. This allows the breaker to be tripped remotely via an external control signal, which is commonly used for emergency stops or fire alarm integration.
What wire sizes are accepted by the lugs on this breaker?
The box lugs accept 10 AWG to 1/0 AWG copper or aluminum wire. Always torque the terminals to the specifications printed directly on the breaker label.
Is this the same as the Cutler-Hammer CH3100ST?
Yes. Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer and continues to manufacture Type CH breakers under the same catalog numbers. The Eaton CH3100ST is a direct replacement for the legacy Cutler-Hammer version.

Expedited Shipments

When our main breaker frizzed out, the option we were presented with was replacing the entire panel and service due to the type and part - no longer produced for replacement parts. It would be a $6500 replacement.
We'll likely have to do it at some point but, for now, the replacement breaker we were able to source from Superbreakers (with a $25 warranty) was $5900 less expensive. installation ran a few hundred dollars and the tech said the part looked to be in excellent condition and was prepped for install as he would have hoped.
