Can I use the BQ3D020 in a standard residential load center?

No. This breaker is designed specifically for bolt-on commercial panelboards like the Eaton BAB, Challenger, and Westinghouse series. It will not fit in standard residential load centers that require plug-on breakers.

Can this breaker replace older Sylvania or GTE BQ series breakers?

Yes. Because Eaton acquired the Challenger line, the BQ3D020 is the correct modern replacement for legacy Sylvania, GTE, and Challenger breakers that share the exact same catalog number.

What does the LI trip function code mean on this breaker?

The LI designation indicates that the thermal magnetic trip unit provides Long-Time overload protection and Instantaneous short circuit protection. These settings are fixed and cannot be adjusted in the field.

Is the 10kAIC rating sufficient for commercial applications?

A 10kAIC interrupting rating is standard for many light commercial branch circuits. However, you must verify that the available fault current at your specific panelboard does not exceed 10,000 amps to ensure safe operation.

Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments

Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.

International Shipping
