Engineered for commercial and industrial applications, the Eaton EDH2175 is a 175A, 2-pole molded case circuit breaker. It utilizes a fixed thermal-magnetic trip mechanism to safeguard electrical systems operating at 240VAC or 125VDC. This F-Frame device mounts into Eaton Series C panelboards, motor control centers, and switchboards. It also replaces older HFD2175 and FDC2175 units. Delivering 100 kAIC of interrupting capacity at 240V, this breaker is HACR rated and reverse feed capable.

Product FAQs
9 answers
What equipment is compatible with the EDH2175 breaker?
This Series C F-frame breaker is designed for use in Eaton and Cutler-Hammer panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers that accept bolt-on ED-frame breakers.
Can the EDH2175 be used in reverse-feed applications?
Yes, this breaker is suitable for reverse-feed applications, allowing it to be back-fed in compatible panels or enclosures.
What is the difference between the Eaton ED2175 and the EDH2175?
The primary difference is the interrupting capacity. The standard ED2175 is rated at 65 kAIC at 240 VAC, while the EDH2175 features a high interrupting rating of 100 kAIC at 240 VAC.
Does the EDH2175 support DC voltage applications?
Yes, in addition to its 240 VAC rating, this breaker is rated for 125 VDC applications with an interrupting capacity of 10 kAIC.
Are the trip settings adjustable on the EDH2175?
No, this breaker features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. Both the long-time (overload) and instantaneous (short-circuit) trip functions are factory set and cannot be adjusted in the field.
Does the EDH2175 come with both line and load lugs?
No, this breaker is supplied with load-side lugs only. The line side is designed for a bolt-on connection directly to the panel bus. If you are using it in a standalone enclosure, line-side lugs must be sourced separately.
What wire sizes do the load-side terminals on the EDH2175 accept?
The included load-side lugs accept copper or aluminum wire ranging from 4 AWG to 4/0 AWG.
Can the EDH2175 replace older Westinghouse F-frame breakers?
Yes, this Series C breaker can serve as a replacement for older Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer 175A F-frame breakers, including the HFD2175 and FDC2175, provided the 240V maximum voltage rating meets your system requirements.
Is the EDH2175 physically the same size as standard ED and EHD breakers?
Yes, all Eaton Series C F-frame breakers with the same number of poles share the same physical dimensions, making them direct drop-in replacements for older or lower-AIC models.
