Description
The FDC2050L is a 2-pole, 50A molded case circuit breaker designed for industrial power distribution. Featuring fixed thermal and magnetic trip units, it provides reliable long-time and instantaneous (LI) protection. What type of mounting does the FDC2050L require?
It is a unit mount, feed-thru circuit breaker. It bolts directly to the enclosure or mounting pan rather than plugging into a busbar system.
What wire sizes are accepted by the standard lugs on this breaker?
The factory-installed lugs accept wire gauges from 14 AWG up to 1/0 AWG. They are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors.
How does the FDC series differ from standard FD or FDB breakers?
The FDC designation indicates an ultra-high interrupting capacity. While standard F-Frame breakers have lower fault tolerances, the FDC2050L can safely interrupt up to 100kA at 480VAC and 200kA at 240VAC.
Is the Eaton FDC2050L interchangeable with legacy Cutler-Hammer or Westinghouse models?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse molded case circuit breaker lines. The FDC2050L serves as a direct, drop-in replacement for older Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse breakers with the exact same catalog number.
Can the trip curve be adjusted on the FDC2050L?
No. This breaker features a standard thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed thermal (long-time) and fixed magnetic (instantaneous) settings. It does not support field adjustments for the trip curve.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
