This breaker is designed for Eaton Type BR panels. It is also backward compatible with legacy Bryant, Challenger, and Westinghouse load centers that accept 1-inch plug-on breakers.
How many panel spaces does the BR2125ST require?
This assembly requires three standard 1-inch pole spaces in your load center. Two spaces are used for the 125A breaker poles, and one additional space is required for the factory-installed shunt trip module.
How do I wire the shunt trip mechanism on this breaker?
The shunt trip module includes two non-polarity sensitive pigtail leads. Connect one lead to your 120V AC control voltage source and the other to a normally open momentary contact, such as an emergency stop button or fire alarm relay.
What control voltage is required to activate the shunt trip?
While the breaker itself is rated for 120/240V AC power distribution, the internal shunt trip coil specifically requires a 120V AC control signal to activate the remote trip function.
How is the breaker reset after a remote shunt trip activation?
After the shunt trip coil receives a voltage signal and opens the circuit, the breaker must be manually reset at the panel. Move the handle firmly to the OFF position before switching it back to the ON position.
Can I purchase the shunt trip module separately to install on a standard BR2125 breaker?
No. For Eaton miniature breakers, the shunt trip mechanism is a factory-installed option only. It cannot be field-installed on an existing standard breaker.
