This breaker is designed for use in Eaton Type BR load centers. It is also UL approved for installation in legacy Westinghouse, Challenger, Bryant, and Cutler-Hammer panels that are listed to accept Type BR breakers.
What is the difference between Eaton BR, BRH, and BRHH breakers?
The suffix indicates the short-circuit interrupting rating. Standard BR breakers are rated for 10 kAIC, BRH models are rated for 22 kAIC, and BRHH models like this one feature a high interrupting rating of 42 kAIC for systems with higher available fault current.
Can I use the BRHH290 to replace a standard BR290 or BRH290?
Yes. The BRHH290 shares the same physical 1-inch per pole plug-on footprint as the standard BR290 (10 kAIC) and BRH290 (22 kAIC). It can safely replace them while providing a higher 42 kAIC interrupting capacity, provided the panel is rated to accept 90-amp branch breakers.
Are the box lugs on the BRHH290 rated for aluminum wire?
Yes, the terminal lugs are dual-rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors. When terminating aluminum wire, it is standard practice to apply an oxide-inhibiting joint compound to prevent corrosion and maintain a reliable connection.
Does this breaker provide GFCI or AFCI protection?
No. The BRHH290 is a standard thermal-magnetic circuit breaker providing overload and short-circuit protection. It does not include ground fault (GFCI) or arc fault (AFCI) protection circuitry.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
