8 answersWhat panels are compatible with the BRHN120AF?
This breaker is designed for Eaton BR load centers. It is also backwards compatible with legacy Cutler-Hammer and Bryant BR series panels.
Does this breaker require a pigtail connection to the neutral bar?
Yes. The BRHN120AF features a pigtail neutral wire that must be landed directly on the panel neutral bar. It is not a Plug-On Neutral (PON) breaker.
Can I install this pigtail breaker in a newer Eaton Plug-On Neutral (PON) panel?
Yes. Eaton BR pigtail breakers can be installed in newer PON load centers because the neutral bars in PON panels still include terminal screws to accommodate pigtail wires.
What is the difference between the BRHN120AF and the standard BRN120AF?
The BRHN120AF has a high interrupting rating of 22kAIC at 120V, whereas the standard BRN120AF is rated for 10kAIC.
What type of arc fault protection does this breaker provide?
It is a Combination Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (CAFCI), meaning it provides protection against both parallel arcs (line-to-neutral or line-to-ground) and series arcs (loose connections or broken wires).
Can I use the BRHN120AF to replace an older 10kAIC BR120AF?
Yes. Because it shares the same physical footprint and offers a higher 22kAIC interrupting rating, it safely exceeds the requirements of a standard 10kAIC replacement.
Can I install this Eaton BR breaker in a Square D or Siemens panel?
No. Eaton BR breakers are only UL listed for use in Eaton, Cutler-Hammer, or Bryant BR load centers. They are not interchangeable with other brands and doing so violates NEC 110.3(B).
Does installing this 22kAIC breaker increase the overall short-circuit rating of my 10kAIC panel?
No. The overall interrupting rating of a panelboard is determined by the lowest-rated breaker installed or the main breaker rating. Installing a 22kAIC branch breaker in a 10kAIC system does not increase the panel rating.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
