Built for residential and commercial applications, the Eaton CHFEP130 provides dedicated 30mA equipment-level ground fault protection. This 30-amp breaker prevents nuisance tripping while shielding sensitive electronics and heat tracing. The plug-on unit mounts into standard Eaton Type CH load centers, requiring a 3/4-inch space. This GFEP (Ground Fault Equipment Protection) breaker has a 30mA trip threshold. It is designed to protect equipment like heat tracing or snow melting systems from line-to-ground faults, rather than providing the 5mA personnel protection of a standard Class A GFCI.
Will the CHFEP130 fit in an Eaton BR series panel?
No. This breaker is designed exclusively for Eaton Type CH load centers. It features a 3/4-inch width per pole and a distinct mounting clip, whereas BR breakers require a 1-inch space per pole.
How is the neutral wire connected on this breaker?
The CHFEP130 features a pigtail neutral. The coiled white pigtail wire must be connected directly to the panel neutral bus bar to power the internal ground fault circuitry. The load neutral wire connects directly to the designated neutral terminal on the breaker itself.
What does the F in the CHFEP130 part number indicate?
The F indicates that this breaker includes a mechanical trip flag. This visual indicator makes it easy to distinguish between a breaker that has tripped due to a fault and one that has simply been turned off manually.
Can I land two wires on the load terminal of this breaker?

I needed these breakers for an install - first time using the company. They said they had them in stock. Took over a week to fulfil the order and it was 11 or 12 days before I had my hands on them. Tough on my business. Then when I went return them they hit me with so many fees that I was gonna net under $30 on a $104 order. It's too bad this was my first experience with them. I'll be sure to tell my electricians and project managers to never use this company. Short sighted. They won the battle but lost the war with a potential great long term client.
