Yes. However, because this model features a pigtail neutral, you must wire the pigtail directly to the neutral bar. For a true plug-on installation without a pigtail, use catalog number CHFP120DF instead.
Is this the correct replacement for the older CHFAFGF120 breaker?
Yes. The CHFN120DF is Eaton's updated, direct replacement for the discontinued CHFAFGF120. It provides identical 20-amp dual-function protection and fits the same Type CH load centers.
How does the diagnostic LED function on this breaker?
The red LED acts as a diagnostic tool designed to provide a series of blinks. This blink sequence helps you identify what caused a recent trip event, such as an arc fault or a ground fault.
What does it mean if the red LED stays continuously lit?
A constantly illuminated red LED is a known cosmetic condition on some of these breakers. It is not a safety concern, and the breaker remains fully functional to protect against arc faults and ground faults.
Will the CHFN120DF fit in Eaton BR or Square D QO panels?
No. This is a 3/4-inch Type CH breaker explicitly designed for Eaton and Cutler-Hammer CH series load centers. It will not fit properly in BR or QO panels.
Do I need to install GFCI receptacles if I use this breaker?
No. Because this dual-function breaker provides whole-circuit ground-fault protection at the panel, downstream GFCI receptacles are redundant. Using standard receptacles on the circuit is fully compliant and helps prevent nuisance tripping.
