The FDB2090 is designed for use in Eaton and Cutler-Hammer Series C panelboards, motor control centers, and switchboards. It is also a direct replacement for legacy Westinghouse Series C F-frame enclosures.
What is the difference between Eaton FDB, FD, and HFD circuit breakers?
The primary difference is the interrupting capacity. The FDB series offers standard interrupting ratings, such as 14kAIC at 480VAC. The FD and HFD series provide higher interrupting capacities for systems with higher available fault currents. All three share the exact same physical F-frame dimensions and mounting footprint.
Can the Eaton FDB2090 be reverse fed?
Yes. Standard thermal-magnetic Series C F-frame breakers like the FDB2090 do not have line and load markings and are suitable for reverse feed applications. Always verify local codes and use an approved retaining hold-down kit when back-feeding a breaker in a panel.
What wire sizes are accepted by the FDB2090 terminals?
The standard factory-installed lugs on the FDB2090 accept wire gauges from 14 AWG up to 1/0 AWG. The terminals are rated for both copper and aluminum conductors.
Is the FDB2090 rated for DC voltage applications?
Yes, this breaker is rated for up to 250VDC with a 10kAIC interrupting capacity. This makes it suitable for specific direct current control and distribution applications in addition to standard AC systems.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
