Engineered for commercial and industrial applications, this 60A MCCB delivers advanced circuit protection. The Eaton PDG23G0060E2MJ features a microprocessor-based PXR 20 electronic trip unit with adjustable Long-Time, Short-Time, and Instantaneous (LSI) settings, plus integrated Modbus RTU communication. It installs into Eaton panelboards and enclosures, and serves as a seamless substitute for discontinued EGE3060FFG models. Rated 65kA at 240VAC, it ensures reliable system coordination.
What panels and enclosures accept the PDG23G0060E2MJ breaker?
This Power Defense Frame 2 breaker is designed for use in Eaton Power Defense panelboards, switchboards, and compatible OEM enclosures.
What does the LSI trip function on this breaker allow me to adjust?
The LSI electronic trip unit allows you to configure the long-time pickup and delay for overload protection, short-time pickup and delay for short circuit coordination, and instantaneous pickup for immediate fault clearing.
What wire sizes are supported by the lugs on this 60A breaker?
The factory-installed lugs accept wire gauges from 14 AWG up to 1/0 AWG. Ensure you torque the terminals to Eaton specifications based on the wire material and size used.
Is the Power Defense series a replacement for older Cutler-Hammer breakers?
The Power Defense series is Eaton's globally rated successor to the Series G and Series C lines. While it can often replace older 60A Frame G or Frame C breakers, you must verify physical dimensions and panel mounting hardware compatibility before retrofitting.
Does this breaker provide ground fault protection?
No. The LSI trip unit provides long-time, short-time, and instantaneous protection. If you require ground fault protection, you will need a breaker with an LSIG trip unit configuration.
Can I adjust the trip settings on the PDG23G0060E2MJ in the field?
Yes. The electronic trip unit is fully adjustable, allowing you to fine-tune the long-time, short-time, and instantaneous settings to coordinate with other breakers in your electrical system.
What is the advantage of an electronic trip unit over a thermal-magnetic one?
Electronic trip units provide highly accurate, adjustable protection settings that do not drift with ambient temperature changes. This allows for precise system coordination and better overall protection compared to traditional thermal-magnetic breakers.
How does a feed-thru connection type work on this breaker?
A feed-thru connection means the breaker is designed to be wired directly with cables on both the line and load sides using the provided lugs, rather than plugging directly into a specialized busbar.
