This unit installs into existing Eaton Series C panelboards, Mark 75 enclosures, and compatible switchboards. Can the Eaton HKB3200 replace an older Westinghouse HKB3200?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment division. A modern Eaton or Cutler-Hammer HKB3200 is a direct, drop-in replacement for legacy Westinghouse breakers with the exact same catalog number.
What is the difference between the standard KB3200 and the HKB3200?
The H prefix designates a high-interrupting capacity version. While a standard KB frame has lower fault current ratings, the HKB3200 provides up to 65kA at 240VAC and 25kA at 480VAC, making it suitable for commercial or industrial systems with higher available fault currents.
How is the trip unit configured on this breaker?
This breaker features a thermal-magnetic trip unit with a fixed thermal element for long-time overload protection and an adjustable magnetic element for instantaneous short-circuit protection. The magnetic trip settings can be adjusted on the face of the breaker to coordinate with downstream loads.
What wire sizes are accepted by the standard lugs on the HKB3200?
The standard factory lugs accept wire gauges ranging from 3 AWG up to 350 kcmil. Ensure proper torque specifications are followed during installation to prevent terminal overheating.

Free Shipping Policy
