This 225-amp, two-pole unit features a non-interchangeable trip unit housed in a three-pole frame. It mounts into older Westinghouse panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers. The JA2225 is a legacy J-Frame breaker designed to mount into older Westinghouse panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers.
What is the modern replacement for the discontinued JA2225?
The Eaton JDB2225 serves as the modern substitute. Note that installing a newer J-Frame breaker into vintage Westinghouse CDP or FDP panelboards often requires a specific retrofit hardware kit to adapt the bus connections.
Can the trip unit on the JA2225 be swapped out for a different rating?
No, the JA2225 features a non-interchangeable trip unit. While the magnetic trip setting is adjustable, the thermal rating is fixed and the unit itself cannot be removed from the breaker frame.
Does the 2-pole JA2225 require a 2-pole or 3-pole space in the panel?
The JA2225 is built with a 2-pole configuration but is housed inside a standard 3-pole J-Frame footprint. It will occupy the space of a 3-pole breaker in your panelboard or switchboard.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
