The Eaton KDC3400F is a 3 Pole thermal magnetic molded case circuit breaker with a current rating of 400 Amps and a voltage rating of 600VAC, 250VDC. 6 answersDoes the KDC3400F include a trip unit?
No. The KDC3400F is a frame-only circuit breaker. A trip unit, such as the Eaton KT3400T thermal-magnetic unit, must be purchased separately and field-installed before use.
Are lugs included with the KDC3400F frame?
Lugs are not included with this frame-only unit. You will need to source compatible Series C lug kits, such as the Eaton 3TA400K, which accommodates 3/0 AWG to 250 kcmil copper or aluminum conductors.
Can I use an electronic trip unit in this frame?
Yes. In addition to standard thermal-magnetic options, the KDC3400F frame accepts Eaton Digitrip electronic trip units, such as the KES3400LSI, for applications requiring highly adjustable protection settings.
Does this breaker frame provide ground fault protection?
As a frame-only unit, it does not inherently offer ground fault sensing. To achieve equipment ground fault protection, you must install an LSIG electronic trip unit, such as the KES3400LSIG.
Is this Eaton breaker frame interchangeable with older Cutler-Hammer units?
Yes. Eaton manufactures this Series C K-frame breaker as a direct replacement for older Cutler-Hammer or Westinghouse frames bearing the identical KDC3400F catalog number.
What is the difference between KD3400F, HKD3400F, and KDC3400F frames?
All three are Eaton Series C K-frame circuit breakers. The difference lies in their short circuit interrupting ratings. The KD series is the standard tier, the HKD series provides high interrupting capacity, and the KDC series offers the ultra-high interrupting capacity for the most demanding applications.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
