Essential for legacy electrical maintenance, this 150-amp Federal Pacific breaker delivers dependable two-pole protection. It utilizes fixed thermal and magnetic trip elements to monitor 240VAC commercial circuits. The unit integrates perfectly with existing Federal Pacific NBLP panelboards via standard bolt-on mounting hardware. Contractors frequently utilize the UBIF2150 as a verified substitute when servicing these specific load centers.
What panelboards are compatible with the Federal Pacific 2B150?
This 150-amp breaker is specifically designed to fit Federal Pacific (FPE) NBLP commercial panelboards. It uses a bolt-on connection to secure directly to the panel bus bar.
Is the FPE 2B150 a Stab-Lok breaker?
No. While Federal Pacific is well known for its residential Stab-Lok breakers, the 2B150 is a commercial grade 2B-frame molded case circuit breaker. It is physically larger and bolts onto the bus bar of NBLP panelboards, whereas Stab-Lok units utilize a different plug-on connection.
Are original Federal Pacific 2B150 breakers still in production?
No, the original manufacturer, Federal Pacific Electric, is no longer in business, so OEM production has ceased. However, third-party manufacturers like Connecticut Electric produce modern, ETL-listed aftermarket replacements, such as the UBIF2150, designed specifically to fit FPE NBLP panelboards.
Can I adjust the trip settings on the 2B150?
No. The 2B150 utilizes fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip elements to provide long-time and instantaneous (LI) protection. The trip curve is factory set and cannot be field adjusted for custom coordination.
What is the maximum fault current the 2B150 can safely clear?
The breaker has an interrupting rating of 10kAIC at 240VAC. Before installation, a qualified electrician must verify that the available short-circuit current at the panelboard does not exceed 10,000 amps to ensure safe operation during a fault event.
Can the 2-pole 2B150 be installed in a 3-phase NBLP panelboard?
Yes, but because it is a 2-pole breaker, it will only connect to two of the three phases on the bus bar. It is primarily used to supply 240VAC single-phase loads. Proper phase balancing within the panel is required when installing 2-pole breakers on a 3-phase system.

Perfect Fit
I had a 100amp breaker and the main breaker would frequently trip during the summers whenever I had the a/c and either of the washer or dryer running at the same time. Being an older fuse box, parts aren’t readily available everywhere. Easy to find on this site and I ordered a refurbished breaker and it came very clean in great shape. I’ve had it installed now 3 days and no breaker trips or any issues. Love the fact they even have a warranty on their refurbished parts.
