Built for legacy Federal Pacific Stab-Lok load centers, the NA2P60 provides 60A of thermal-magnetic protection. This two-pole breaker is ideal for residential branch circuits and HVAC equipment. Mounting seamlessly into original FPE enclosures, this plug-on unit requires no aftermarket modifications. It functions as a direct replacement for the classic NA series and can be substituted with the UBIF260N.

Product FAQs
8 answers
What is a modern replacement for the Federal Pacific NA2P60?
Connecticut Electric manufactures the UBI Type F line as a modern replacement. The direct crossover part number is UBIF260N for a 60A, 2-pole thick series Stab-Lok breaker.
What is the physical width of the NA2P60 breaker in the panel?
The NA series is a thick body Stab-Lok breaker measuring 1 inch per pole. As a 2-pole unit, it requires 2 inches of horizontal space on the busbar.
What is the difference between NA and NC series Stab-Lok breakers?
The NA series requires 1 inch of width per pole. The NC series is a compact half-inch design. They are not interchangeable if the panel spacing is strictly configured for thin breakers.
What safety concerns exist with original Federal Pacific Stab-Lok equipment?
Historical testing shows original FPE Stab-Lok breakers have a high failure rate during overcurrent events, often failing to trip. Electricians frequently advise full panel upgrades to comply with modern safety standards, though replacement breakers remain available to maintain existing panels.
Will the NA2P60 plug into other manufacturer panels like Square D QO or Siemens?
No. The proprietary Stab-Lok plug-on clip is exclusively compatible with Federal Pacific and Federal Pioneer load centers.
Can I use an NB series breaker instead of the NA series?
No. The NA series features a plug-in connection for residential load centers. The NB series utilizes a screw-fastened bolt-on connection for commercial panelboards and will not fit the same busbar.
Can the NA2P60 be used as a back-fed main breaker?
Yes. Stab-Lok NA breakers do not have factory line and load markings, allowing them to be reverse fed. A hold-down clip must be installed to secure the breaker to the busbar in back-fed applications to comply with the National Electrical Code.
What is the maximum continuous current this 60A breaker can handle?
Under National Electrical Code (NEC) guidelines, standard thermal magnetic breakers are limited to 80 percent of their rating for continuous loads. The maximum continuous capacity for this unit is 48 amps.
