Restoring power to older commercial installations requires exact-fit components like this 100-amp, two-pole Federal Pacific unit. Designed specifically for legacy NE panelboards, it provides reliable thermal-magnetic protection without requiring aftermarket adapters. The NE221100 mounts securely via bolt-on connections and delivers an 18kA interrupting capacity at 240VAC. It serves as a seamless replacement option, crossing to UBIF2100N, ensuring your facility remains operational and safe.
What panelboards are compatible with the Federal Pacific NE221100 circuit breaker?
This breaker is designed specifically for use in legacy Federal Pacific NE series panelboards. It requires a bolt-on connection and is not compatible with standard residential Stab-Lok load centers.
Is there a direct replacement or cross-reference for the NE221100?
Yes, the UBIF2100N serves as a direct aftermarket replacement for this NE frame breaker, allowing facilities to maintain their existing panelboards without requiring adapter kits.
How does the NE221100 mount into the panelboard?
It utilizes a bolt-on connection, securing directly to the busbar of Federal Pacific NE panelboards. This ensures a stable mechanical and electrical connection for commercial applications.
What type of trip unit is equipped on the NE221100?
This breaker features a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed long-time and instantaneous trip functions, providing standard overload and short-circuit protection.
Are Federal Pacific NE frame breakers the same as Stab-Lok breakers?
No. The NE frame is a commercial molded case circuit breaker designed for NE panelboards. While Federal Pacific is known for its residential Stab-Lok line, the NE series utilizes a completely different bolt-on design.
Are original Federal Pacific NE221100 breakers still being manufactured?
Federal Pacific Electric is no longer in business, meaning original NE series breakers are out of production. Facilities needing replacements must rely on existing legacy stock or utilize approved aftermarket alternatives.
Can the NE221100 be used on systems with high fault currents?
The NE221100 has a maximum interrupting rating of 18kA at 240V. It must only be installed in systems where the available fault current does not exceed this threshold to ensure safe operation during a short circuit.
