Designed to support commercial and industrial power distribution, this 45A thermal-magnetic device provides essential long-time and instantaneous trip functions. It installs into classic Federal Pacific NEF or CDP panelboards, serving as an exact fit for aging infrastructure. Facility managers can also use this unit to replace the UBIF245N substitute model. Rated for 18kAIC at 240VAC, the N-frame design features reverse feed capabilities and vibration-tested construction.
Which panelboards are compatible with the NEF425045 circuit breaker?
This breaker is engineered specifically for installation in legacy Federal Pacific NEF panelboards and CDP panelboards.
What wire sizes are compatible with the load side lugs on the NEF425045?
The load side lugs are designed to accept wire gauges ranging from 14 AWG to 2 AWG.
Does the NEF425045 support direct current (DC) systems?
Yes, in addition to standard AC voltages, this thermal magnetic breaker is rated for DC applications with an interrupting capacity of 10kA at 250VDC.
Is the NEF425045 interchangeable with Federal Pacific Stab-Lok breakers?
No. NEF series breakers are commercial bolt-on molded case circuit breakers designed specifically for NEF and CDP panelboards. They are not compatible with residential Stab-Lok load centers.
Is Federal Pacific still manufacturing the NEF series breakers?
Federal Pacific is no longer in business. The NEF425045 is sourced as a legacy replacement component to maintain existing FPE electrical infrastructure.
Can the trip settings on the NEF425045 be adjusted in the field?
No, this breaker features a non-interchangeable trip unit with fixed thermal and fixed magnetic settings for long-time and instantaneous (LI) protection.

Great service & pricing
Superbreakers did a great job for us. We called and asked if the breakers were actually in their possession. Withing 30 minutes they called us back (which is rare these days), and we got our breakers the next morning.
