Product FAQs

5 answers
Can the NEF427025 be installed in a standard Federal Pacific Stab-Lok residential load center?

No. The NEF427025 is a commercial N-frame molded case circuit breaker with a bolt-on connection. It is designed exclusively for Federal Pacific NEF and CDP industrial panelboards, not residential Stab-Lok panels.

What mounting hardware is required to install the NEF427025 into a CDP panelboard?

Installing this N-frame breaker into a Federal Pacific CDP panelboard requires a compatible twin-branch mounting hardware strap kit, such as the NEF1K, to properly secure and bus the breaker to the panel.

Is the NEF427025 suitable for direct current (DC) applications?

Yes. While primarily used in 240VAC and 480VAC systems, the NEF427025 is also rated for DC applications up to 250VDC, providing a 10kA interrupting capacity for direct current circuits.

Can the trip curve on the NEF427025 be adjusted in the field?

No. The NEF427025 utilizes a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. Both the long-time (thermal) and instantaneous (magnetic) trip functions are factory set and cannot be adjusted.

Is the Federal Pacific NEF427025 still in active production?

No. Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) is no longer in business. Facilities maintaining existing NEF and CDP panelboards must rely on legacy inventory to source exact physical and electrical matches for their aging N-frame infrastructure.

    Great service & pricing

Superbreakers did a great job for us. We called and asked if the breakers were actually in their possession. Withing 30 minutes they called us back (which is rare these days), and we got our breakers the next morning.
