This breaker is specifically designed to mount into legacy Federal Pacific NF panelboards. It is a commercial molded case circuit breaker and is not compatible with standard residential load centers.
Is this breaker compatible with Federal Pacific Stab-Lok residential panels?
No. The NF631040 is an N-Frame molded case circuit breaker designed for commercial and industrial applications. It uses a bolt-on connection and will not fit residential Stab-Lok enclosures.
What wire sizes are supported by the terminals on the NF631040?
The breaker comes equipped with lugs that accept wire gauges ranging from 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG. Ensure you use properly rated conductors for your 40-amp circuit requirements.
Can I adjust the trip curve on this 40-amp breaker?
No, the NF631040 features fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip elements. The long-time and instantaneous (LI) protection settings are factory set and cannot be modified in the field.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
