The UBIF0240 (also listed as UBIF0240N) is a direct aftermarket replacement for the original Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) NC240 circuit breaker. It is designed to fit FPE Stab-Lok load centers that accept NC style thin breakers.
Is the UBIF0240 a thin or thick series Stab-Lok breaker?
This is a thin series NC style breaker. It occupies a 1 inch wide space in the panel, unlike the older NA series thick breakers which require a 2 inch space for a two pole configuration.
Are UBI aftermarket replacements safe to use in older FPE panels?
Yes. While original Federal Pacific Stab-Lok breakers have known safety and reliability issues, these aftermarket replacements are newly manufactured by Connecticut Electric. They are Intertek ETL listed to UL Standard 489 for molded case circuit breakers.
