Delivering exceptional 200kAIC interrupting capacity at 240V, this 250-amp electronic trip breaker is built for demanding industrial environments. The two-pole configuration utilizes a standard three-pole SF frame, allowing it to mount into Spectra Series panelboards and motor control centers. Equipped with adjustable LSI functions and digital RMS sensing, it provides highly accurate overcurrent protection. For modern upgrades, this unit is replaced by the ABB XT4LU3250BFF000XXX via retrofit.

Product FAQs
7 answers
What rating plug is required for the SFPA24AT0250?
This Spectra RMS breaker requires an SRPF250A series interchangeable rating plug (such as the SRPF250A250) to establish the long-time trip point. The breaker will not function properly without a compatible rating plug installed.
Which lug kit is compatible with this SF-frame breaker?
For standard copper or aluminum wire terminations, the SFPA24AT0250 accepts the TCAL29 lug kit. Lugs are typically sold separately unless otherwise specified.
What does the 'P' in the SFPA nomenclature signify?
In the GE Spectra RMS series, the 'P' indicates a high interrupting capacity frame, which provides a 100kAIC rating at 480VAC.
Can this 2-pole breaker mount in a 3-phase Spectra panelboard?
Yes. The SFPA24AT0250 is built on a standard 3-pole SF frame, allowing it to mount directly into 3-phase Spectra Series panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers while providing 2-pole protection.
How are the LSI trip functions adjusted?
The Long-Time, Short-Time, and Instantaneous (LSI) protection settings are configured using the dials on the solid-state electronic trip unit, in conjunction with the installed rating plug.
Why is this breaker branded as both ABB and General Electric?
ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions in 2018. As a result, Spectra RMS breakers like the SFPA24AT0250 may carry GE or ABB branding, but they are identical in form, fit, and function.
Is there a direct retrofit for the obsolete SFPA24AT0250?
Yes. Because the GE Spectra RMS line is no longer in production, ABB manufactures Tmax XT retrofit kits (specifically utilizing the XT4 platform) designed to replace SF-frame breakers in existing Spectra equipment without requiring a full panel upgrade.
