ABB / General Electric SKLL3608L3XX Molded Case Circuit Breaker

As an SK1200 frame breaker, the SKLL3608L3XX is specifically designed to bolt into GE Spectra Series power panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers. It serves as a robust main or feeder circuit protection device within these enclosures.

The electronic trip unit features adjustable LSI functionality. Panel builders can independently configure long-time pickup and delay for overload protection, short-time pickup and delay for intermediate fault coordination, and instantaneous pickup to clear severe short circuits.

Following ABB's acquisition of GE Industrial Solutions, Spectra RMS series breakers may feature either GE or ABB branding on the equipment nameplate. The physical dimensions, internal components, and UL listings remain completely identical regardless of the printed brand.

The continuous ampere rating is dictated by a front-mounted rating plug rather than the breaker frame itself. To operate the SKLL3608L3XX at its full 800A capacity, a compatible 800A Spectra rating plug, such as the SRPK800B800, must be properly installed into the trip unit.

The breaker's solid-state trip system uses digital sampling to determine True RMS values for both sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal currents. This maintains accurate thermal protection and prevents nuisance tripping in environments with high harmonic distortion, such as facilities operating variable frequency drives.

While the breaker is configured for lug connections, the mechanical lug kits are typically installed separately based on the required conductor size. Compatible kits, such as the GE TCAL125 series, are designed to securely terminate large gauge copper or aluminum wire.
