Product FAQs

5 answers
What types of enclosures and panels are compatible with the TB13030?

This unit-mount breaker is designed for installation in GE switchboards, motor control centers, and GE A-Series panelboards. Because it is a unit-mount design, it bolts directly to the mounting surface or backpan rather than plugging into a busbar.

What wire sizes are supported by the factory lugs on the TB13030?

The included lugs accept both copper and aluminum conductors ranging from 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG. Ensure proper torque specifications are followed during installation as outlined on the breaker faceplate.

How does the current limiting feature of the TB1 series operate?

As a current-limiting breaker, the TB13030 is designed to clear high-level faults in less than half a cycle. This rapid action significantly reduces the peak let-through current and let-through energy, providing enhanced protection for downstream electrical components.

Why might this breaker be labeled as either ABB or General Electric?

ABB acquired General Electric Industrial Solutions in 2018. As a result, TB1 series breakers like the TB13030 may feature either GE or ABB branding depending on the exact date of manufacture, but they are physically and electrically identical.

Are the thermal and magnetic trip settings adjustable on this model?

No, the TB13030 features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit. If your application requires adjustable trip settings for coordination studies, you will need to select a different breaker frame or an electronic trip unit.
