Product FAQs

8 answers
What is the difference between the GE TED124090 and the THED124090?

Both are 90-amp, 2-pole E-frame molded case circuit breakers with identical physical dimensions. The THED124090 is the high-interrupting version, rated for 65kAIC at 240VAC, whereas the standard TED124090 has a lower short-circuit interrupting capacity. They are physically interchangeable in compatible panelboards, provided the system requires the higher fault current rating.

Will this breaker arrive with GE or ABB branding?

ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions in 2018. Depending on the manufacturing date, this E-frame breaker may feature either GE or ABB branding on the label. The physical dimensions, mounting hardware, and electrical performance remain identical regardless of the logo.

Which panelboards are compatible with the THED124090 circuit breaker?

This bolt-on breaker is designed exclusively for use in GE A-Series and GE Spectra Series panelboards. It bolts directly to the busbar and cannot be used in load centers that require plug-on or Q-Line style breakers.

Can the THED124090 be mounted on a standard DIN rail?

No, this is a bolt-on molded case circuit breaker designed for direct busbar connection in specific GE commercial panelboards. It does not have DIN rail mounting hardware.

Is the THED124090 suitable for direct current (DC) applications?

Yes, in addition to its AC ratings, this thermal-magnetic breaker is rated for up to 250VDC with an interrupting capacity of 20kAIC. This makes it suitable for specific commercial or industrial DC control circuits.

Does this breaker support reverse feeding?

Yes, GE E-frame breakers like the THED124090 are suitable for reverse feed applications. This allows the breaker to be back-fed when used as a main breaker or in specific generator and solar setups.

Are the load lugs included with this breaker?

Yes, the THED124090 comes with factory-installed load-side lugs that accept 14 to 3 AWG copper or 12 to 1 AWG aluminum wire.

What type of trip unit does the THED124090 use?

It features a non-interchangeable, fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. It provides both long-time overload protection and instantaneous short-circuit protection (LI trip function) and cannot be adjusted in the field.
