Product FAQs

6 answers
What equipment is compatible with the UQFP-175?

It is designed for use as a parallel main circuit breaker in compatible Milbank meter mains, meter sockets, and power distribution panels that require plug-in style molded case breakers.

What wire sizes do the lugs on this breaker accept?

The load-side lugs accommodate 1/0 AWG to 300 kcmil copper conductors, or 2/0 AWG to 300 kcmil aluminum conductors.

What is the difference between Milbank UQFP and UQFB breaker lines?

The UQFP series features a plug-in connection designed for parallel applications. The UQFB series utilizes a bolt-on connection (cable-in, cable-out) with lugs provided on both the line and load sides.

How does the UQFP-175 differ from the UQFP-M-175?

The standard UQFP-175 is intended for parallel main circuit breaker applications. The UQFP-M-175 is designed for series main applications and includes split-load tabs that provide feed-through capability.

Is there an alternate version if my panel requires a higher interrupting capacity?

Yes. While the standard UQFP-175 provides a 10kAIC rating, the Milbank UQFPH-175 is available as a direct plug-in alternative for systems requiring a 22kAIC rating.

How does the thermal-magnetic trip mechanism protect the circuit?

The thermal component responds to prolonged overcurrents by heating a bimetallic strip to safely open the circuit. The magnetic component provides instantaneous tripping when it detects severe, sudden short-circuit faults.
