Built specifically for data center and telecommunication environments, this 150-amp, 65VDC plug-on breaker utilizes a unique parallel pole design. It occupies two physical pole spaces while functioning as a single electrical pole, utilizing Precision Current Equalization (PCE) for optimal load sharing. The unit plugs into standard bullet-style DC power distribution panels. Featuring hydraulic-magnetic technology with a Curve 3 short delay, it delivers a robust 50kA interrupting capacity.

Product FAQs
6 answers
What type of panels is the AM1P-Z2-3W compatible with?
This breaker is designed specifically for standard bullet-style DC power distribution panels commonly used in telecommunications and data center environments.
How does the parallel pole design affect installation in the panel?
The AM1P-Z2-3W occupies two physical pole spaces in the distribution panel while functioning as a single electrical pole. This parallel design utilizes Precision Current Equalization for optimal load sharing across the contacts.
What is the benefit of the hydraulic-magnetic trip technology in this telecom breaker?
Hydraulic-magnetic breakers provide temperature-stable tripping characteristics. Unlike thermal-magnetic breakers, the trip point remains consistent regardless of ambient temperature fluctuations, ensuring precise protection for sensitive DC equipment.
Can this 65VDC breaker be used in AC power systems?
No. This breaker is strictly rated for DC applications. Using a DC-specific breaker in an AC circuit prevents proper arc extinguishing during a fault, creating a severe safety hazard.
What wire sizes are supported for this 150A breaker?
The connection points accommodate conductors ranging from 6 AWG up to 300 kcmil, providing the flexibility needed to terminate the heavy-gauge cabling required for 150A continuous DC loads.
Does this breaker feature an adjustable trip setting?
No, the AM1P-Z2-3W features a fixed Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) trip function. The trip settings cannot be adjusted in the field.
