This breaker is designed for use in GE A-Series Panelboards, GE PowerMark Gold Load Centers, and ABB ReliaHome Load Centers. It requires two full 1-inch spaces and cannot be used in slots restricted to half-inch THQP breakers.
What is the difference between the THHQL21110 and the standard THQL21110?
The THHQL21110 features a higher interrupting rating of 22kAIC, whereas the standard THQL21110 is rated for 10kAIC. Both share the same 1-inch per pole plug-in form factor and can be used in the same GE and ABB load centers, provided the panel requires or accepts a 22kAIC rating.
Why is this breaker listed under both ABB and General Electric?
ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions in 2018. As a result, GE Q-Line breakers, including the THHQL series, are now manufactured by ABB but retain the original GE catalog numbers and backward compatibility with legacy GE load centers.
How should the conductors be terminated on the THHQL21110?
The box lugs accept 2 to 2/0 AWG copper or aluminum conductors. To comply with NEC 110.14(D), the lugs must be tightened using a calibrated torque tool to the exact specification printed on the breaker label, which is typically 45 lb-in for this wire range.
Can I use the THHQL21110 to replace a half-inch THQP breaker?
No. The THHQL21110 is a full-size Q-Line breaker that requires two standard 1-inch spaces, totaling 2 inches in width. THQP breakers are half-inch slimline breakers. You cannot fit a THHQL breaker into a single 1-inch space.
Can the THHQL21110 be used in a panel that specifies a 10kAIC main breaker?
Yes, a 22kAIC branch breaker like the THHQL21110 can generally be installed in a system with a lower fault current rating, but it will not increase the overall panel rating. However, you cannot use a 10kAIC breaker in a panel that requires a 22kAIC minimum. Always verify the required short-circuit current rating for your specific installation.
Does the THHQL21110 require a bolt-on connection?
