Part of Leviton's smart lineup, the LB115-EST delivers 15A of power alongside 30mA ground-fault equipment protection (GFPE). It safeguards sensitive machinery from damaging line-to-ground fault currents in residential and commercial settings. Engineered exclusively for Leviton load centers, this breaker features an innovative all plug-on design. It simply snaps into place during final installation. Integrated Wi-Fi allows users to monitor energy consumption and remotely control the circuit.
What load centers are compatible with the LB115-EST breaker?
This breaker is designed exclusively for use in Leviton Load Centers. It features a proprietary plug-on design and is not interchangeable with panels from other manufacturers.
Does the LB115-EST require a neutral pigtail wire for installation?
No. It utilizes a plug-on neutral connection that attaches directly to the neutral bar in a Leviton Load Center, eliminating the need for a separate pigtail wire.
What is the ground fault trip threshold for this GFPE breaker?
As a Ground Fault Protection of Equipment (GFPE) breaker, it is designed to trip at a 30mA threshold to protect machinery and heat tracing equipment. It is not a Class A GFCI breaker, which would trip at a 5mA threshold for personnel protection.
How does the smart functionality of the LB115-EST integrate with a Leviton system?
As a 2nd Gen Smart Circuit Breaker, it connects to the My Leviton app when installed with a Leviton whole-home energy monitor or smart data hub. This allows for remote ON/OFF control, custom circuit scheduling, and real-time energy monitoring.
How does the plug-on design affect the rough-in wiring process?
Leviton's plug-on architecture allows electricians to wire the entire load center during the rough-in phase without any breakers present. The LB115-EST can be snapped into place later without requiring additional wiring to the breaker itself.
What safety mechanism prevents the LB115-EST from being reset during a fault?
This breaker includes patented reset lockout technology. If the internal ground fault protection circuitry is compromised or an active fault is detected, the mechanism prevents the breaker from being reset to an unsafe ON position.
What does the EST suffix indicate on this Leviton part number?
The EST designation signifies that this is a 2nd Gen Smart Circuit Breaker featuring Ground Fault Protection of Equipment (GFPE) along with remote control and energy monitoring capabilities.
What trip functions are included in the LB115-EST thermal-magnetic breaker?
This breaker features Long-Time, Instantaneous, and Ground Fault (LIG) trip functions. The thermal-magnetic mechanism handles standard overload and short-circuit protection, while the integrated GFPE circuitry monitors for ground faults.
