Engineered for residential and commercial applications, the Leviton LB260GF provides 5mA ground-fault protection for 60A circuits. This two-pole breaker mounts into Leviton load centers using an all plug-on design that simplifies wiring. It serves as a replacement for LB260-G and LB260-GST models. Rated at 10 kAIC, it utilizes hydraulic-magnetic trip technology for consistent performance across extreme temperatures. It also features intuitive LED status indicators and reset lockout technology.
How do I connect the load wires to the Leviton LB260-GF breaker?
You do not connect wires directly to the breaker. Leviton load centers feature a unique design where all hot and neutral wires terminate at custom lugs in the panel. This allows the entire panel to be wired at rough-in before snapping the plug-on breaker into place.
Does this breaker require a neutral pigtail wire?
No. The LB260-GF features a plug-on neutral design that connects directly to the neutral bar in Leviton load centers, eliminating the need for a pigtail wire.
What is the ground-fault trip threshold for this 60A breaker?
The LB260-GF provides Class A ground-fault protection, which trips when a ground fault of 5mA is detected.
How does the hydraulic-magnetic trip technology affect performance?
Hydraulic-magnetic trip technology ensures consistent performance and trip thresholds across extreme temperatures, operating effectively from -40C to 85C without the need for thermal re-rating.
Can the LB260-GF replace older Leviton 60A GFCI breakers?
Yes, the LB260-GF serves as a direct replacement for the older LB260-G and LB260-GST models.
What do the LED indicators on the LB260-GF signify?
The built-in LEDs indicate operational status, trip conditions, and the specific type of fault detected. They remain illuminated even when the breaker is tripped to help quickly identify the cause of the fault.
Can I use the LB260-GF in a non-Leviton electrical panel?
No. This breaker is exclusively designed for use with Leviton load centers and will not fit or function in panels from other manufacturers.
What applications typically require a 60A GFCI circuit breaker?
A 60A GFCI breaker is commonly used to provide ground-fault protection for heavy-duty outdoor or wet-location applications, such as large hot tubs, spas, and pool equipment panels.
