Built for 120/240VAC applications, this 225A, two-pole main breaker delivers essential thermal-magnetic protection for residential and light commercial settings. The plug-on unit fits Siemens Power Mod meter stacks, Uni-PAK metering, and legacy Murray load centers. It replaces the older MD2225 breaker to support existing panels. Rated at 10kAIC, it features a side-wired configuration with right-hand bend wiring. This layout eliminates filler plates and simplifies connections in tight spaces.

Product FAQs
7 answers
Which meter stacks and panels are compatible with the QS2225?
This plug-on main breaker is designed for use with Siemens Power Mod meter stacks, Uni-PAK residential metering centers, and legacy Murray load centers.
How does the side-wired lug design impact wire bending space?
The side-wired configuration allows large conductors, from 3 AWG up to 300 kcmil, to be routed with a single right-hand bend. This eliminates the need to force stiff copper or aluminum cables into tight S-bends inside the enclosure.
Does installing the QS2225 require additional filler plates?
No. Despite its specialized side-wired design, this 225A QS frame breaker occupies the exact same physical footprint as a standard 225A QP breaker, so no costly filler plates are needed.
Can the Siemens QS2225 replace discontinued Murray main breakers?
Yes, the QS2225 is a direct replacement for legacy Murray 225A main breakers, including the discontinued MDH2225, for use in compatible load centers and meter mains.
What does the LI trip function code indicate on this breaker?
It indicates a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. The L stands for Long-Time protection against gradual overloads, and the I stands for Instantaneous protection against severe short circuits.
Can I use the QS2225 as a standard branch breaker?
The QS2225 is specifically categorized and designed as a main breaker for meter stacks and load centers. It is not intended for standard plug-in branch circuit applications.
What is the difference between a standard Q frame and this QS frame breaker?
While both are miniature circuit breakers, the QS frame is specifically engineered for multi-family metering and main breaker applications. It features a unique side-wired lug configuration that standard Q frame breakers lack.
