Built for GFCI protection, the ABB THQL1120GFT2 miniature circuit breaker is rated 20A and 120VAC with one pole. It has a 10kA interrupting rating at 120VAC and a single-phase, single circuit arrangement. This Q-Line breaker belongs to the THQL series and uses plug-on mounting. Its fixed thermal magnetic trip provides long-time and instantaneous protection. Box lug terminals accept 14-8 AWG wire, and the width is 2.73 in.

Product FAQs
8 answers
How should I use the 20A rating when selecting the ABB THQL1120GFT2?
The 20A rating is the breaker’s current rating. Coordinate the circuit load and conductor ampacity with that rating; the terminal wire range is a separate installation consideration.
How does the 10kA interrupting rating affect selection?
The interrupting rating is 10kA at 120VAC. Available fault current at the installation point must not exceed that rating.
What does the GFCI protection do?
GFCI protection detects a current imbalance that indicates current is leaving the intended circuit path and trips the breaker. Choose this feature when the circuit requires ground-fault protection, in addition to overcurrent protection.
How does the thermal-magnetic trip respond to overloads and short circuits?
The thermal element provides long-time response to sustained overloads, while the magnetic element provides instantaneous response to high fault current. These functions address different overcurrent conditions.
Can I adjust the trip settings for my application?
The trip settings are fixed, so there are no adjustable trip settings to tune during installation. Select the breaker based on its 20A rating and thermal-magnetic trip functions rather than planning field adjustments.
What does plug-on mounting mean for installation?
Plug-on mounting uses a plug-in connection rather than a bolt-on attachment. Plan the installation procedure around that mounting method.
What conductor sizes can the box-lug terminals accept?
The box-lug terminals accept conductors from 14 AWG through 8 AWG. Select a conductor within that range while also meeting the circuit’s ampacity requirements; terminal acceptance alone does not determine conductor sizing.
What do the voltage, pole count and phase ratings mean for selection?
The ABB THQL1120GFT2 has a 120VAC rating, one pole and a single-phase rating. The voltage rating guides circuit-voltage selection, while the pole count tells you how many circuit poles the breaker interrupts.
