Engineered for residential applications, this space-saving QT series component provides two 15A single-pole circuits and one 50A double-pole circuit with a common trip. It mounts into Siemens EQ, PL, ES, and legacy Murray load centers requiring CTL (circuit limiting) configurations. By consolidating multiple circuits into just two standard panel spaces, it offers an efficient solution for expanding capacity without upgrading the entire enclosure. Replaces the discontinued MP21550CT.
How many panel spaces does the Siemens Q21550CT require?
The Q21550CT is a triplex breaker that mounts into two standard 1-inch panel spaces. It consolidates two 15A single-pole circuits and one 50A double-pole circuit into a compact footprint.
Does the Q21550CT feature a rejection clip for CTL panels?
Yes, this is a CTL (Circuit Total Limiting) breaker. It includes a rejection clip and is designed specifically for Siemens and Murray CTL load centers that are rated to accept QT series breakers.
What is the trip configuration for the poles on the Q21550CT?
The center 50A double-pole circuit features an internal common trip. The two outer 15A single-pole circuits operate independently of each other and the center poles.
Can the Siemens Q21550CT replace legacy Murray breakers?
Yes. Siemens QT series breakers are UL listed for use in legacy Murray load centers. The Q21550CT serves as a direct replacement for the discontinued Murray MP21550CT.
What is the difference between the Q21550CT and Q21550CTNC?
The Q21550CT is a CTL breaker that includes a rejection clip for modern load centers. The Q21550CTNC is a non-CTL version that lacks the rejection clip, intended for older panels that do not require circuit limiting features.
Is the Q21550CT suitable for HVAC equipment?
Yes, this breaker is HACR rated, making it approved for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment that requires this specific safety designation.
Are the 15A circuits on this breaker rated for switching duty?
Yes, the 15A single-pole circuits are SWD rated. This allows them to be used as switches for fluorescent lighting loads on a regular basis without damaging the breaker.
