Engineered for robust power distribution, the KH26125 operates as a 125A, 2-pole MCCB from Square D. It utilizes thermal-magnetic technology to deliver long-time and instantaneous (LI) protection. This legacy K-Frame breaker is designed to fit Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. For modernizations, it is replaced by the PowerPact HGA261252 model. With a 35kAIC interrupting capacity at 480VAC, it handles demanding fault currents and includes load-side lugs.

Product FAQs

What is the modern replacement for the legacy KH26125 breaker?
The K-Frame series is a legacy product. For modernizations or new installations, this 125A, 2-pole breaker is typically replaced by the Square D PowerPact H-Frame series, such as the HGA261252, which offers a smaller footprint while maintaining I-Line panelboard compatibility.
Does the KH26125 require a separate mounting hardware kit for installation?
No additional mounting hardware or strap kit is required for the line side. The breaker features built-in I-Line jaws that plug directly into the busbar of an I-Line panelboard, and it secures to the panel using its integrated mounting bracket.
What does the LI trip function code indicate on this breaker?
The LI designation means the thermal-magnetic trip unit provides Long-Time (L) and Instantaneous (I) protection. The long-time function protects against sustained overloads with a fixed thermal setting, while the instantaneous function provides immediate tripping during severe short circuits and features an adjustable magnetic dial.
Will this 2-pole K-Frame breaker fit into a standard 3-phase I-Line panelboard?
Yes. Square D I-Line panelboards are designed to accept 1-pole, 2-pole, and 3-pole breakers on the same bus system. The KH26125 will simply connect to two of the three available phases on the panelboard busbar.
Is it safe to apply this breaker on a system with a 65kA available fault current?
It depends on the system voltage. The KH26125 is rated for 65kA at 240VAC. However, if your system operates at 480VAC, the maximum interrupting rating drops to 35kA, and at 600VAC it is 25kA. Always verify your system voltage and available fault current before installation to ensure safe operation.
Can the KH26125 be utilized in DC power applications?
Yes, this breaker is rated for up to 250VDC with a 10kA interrupting capacity. This makes it suitable for use in industrial DC control panels, battery backup systems, and other ungrounded DC applications.
