Product FAQs
6 answers
What panelboards are compatible with the KH26150 circuit breaker?
This breaker is designed exclusively for Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. The I-Line plug-in mounting style allows it to attach directly to the internal busbar system.
How does the I-Line mounting system work on this breaker?
The breaker features plug-in jaws on the line side that press directly onto the I-Line bus stack. It is then secured to the panelboard backpan with a mounting bracket, providing a solid electrical and mechanical connection without separate bus wiring.
What is the purpose of the adjustable magnetic trip on this breaker?
The adjustable magnetic trip allows you to set the instantaneous short-circuit pickup level. This helps coordinate the breaker with downstream devices and specific load inrush currents, while the thermal element provides fixed overload protection.
Is the KH26150 still in active production?
The KH series is a legacy K-frame circuit breaker. While it remains available for maintaining existing I-Line panelboards, Schneider Electric recommends the PowerPact H-frame series, such as the HGA261502, for modern replacements and new installations.
Can I use aluminum wiring with the factory lugs on this breaker?
Yes, the standard factory lugs are dual-rated for both aluminum and copper conductors ranging from 4 AWG to 350 kcmil. Always apply a listed oxide inhibitor when terminating aluminum wiring and follow the torque specifications printed on the breaker faceplate.
Can the KH26150 be reverse fed?
No. Because this is an I-Line style breaker, it features plug-in jaws on one end for the busbar connection and wire lugs on the other. This physical design dictates a specific line and load orientation, meaning it cannot be reverse fed.
