This bolt-on CF frame breaker is designed for legacy Siemens and ITE switchboards and motor control centers. Because of its specific C-frame footprint and bolt-on connection, it cannot be installed in standard plug-on load centers.
How does the current-limiting feature of the CF3B100 work?
As a current-limiting molded case circuit breaker, it restricts the let-through energy during a severe electrical fault. This allows it to safely interrupt massive fault currents, achieving a 200kAIC rating at 240VAC and 480VAC, which protects downstream equipment from extreme thermal and magnetic stress.
What is the modern replacement for the legacy CF3B100 breaker?
The CF3B100 is a legacy Cordon-style breaker. If you are upgrading your panel, the modern Siemens equivalent with similar current-limiting capabilities is the CED63B100 (ED frame). However, upgrading to an ED frame may require different mounting straps or panel hardware compared to the original CF frame.
Is the CF3B100 rated for direct current (DC) systems?
Yes, in addition to its 600VAC rating, this breaker is rated for 250VDC applications. It provides a high interrupting capacity of 100kA at 250VDC, making it suitable for heavy-duty industrial DC circuits.
Can I adjust the trip settings on the CF3B100?
No, this breaker is equipped with a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. Both the long-time (overload) and instantaneous (short-circuit) trip functions are factory-set and cannot be adjusted in the field.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
