Engineered for commercial and industrial applications, the Siemens QR22B100 is a 2-pole, 100A molded case circuit breaker. It delivers reliable thermal-magnetic protection for demanding electrical distribution systems. This bolt-on MCCB installs into Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards, meter centers, and switchboards. It serves as a drop-in replacement for the discontinued QJ22B100. Rated for 10kAIC at 240VAC, the breaker is HACR rated and supports reverse feed configurations.
Does the Siemens QR22B100 replace the older QJ22B100 circuit breaker?
Yes, the QR22B100 is the direct replacement for the discontinued QJ22B100. The QR frame shares the exact same form factor and mounting footprint as the legacy QJ frame, allowing for a straightforward retrofit in existing enclosures.
Which Siemens panelboards are compatible with the QR22B100?
This bolt-on molded case circuit breaker is designed for installation in Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards, as well as compatible Siemens switchboards and meter centers.
Can I field-install internal accessories on the QR22B100?
Yes. Unlike the older QJ series, the QR frame features accessory pockets that allow you to field-install internal accessories like shunt trips and auxiliary switches without requiring a factory-assembled unit.
Is the Siemens QR22B100 suitable for reverse feed applications?
Yes, this circuit breaker features a cable-in, cable-out design that supports reverse feed configurations. It is also HACR rated for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
What wire sizes are accepted by the lugs on the QR22B100?
The standard line and load lugs on this breaker accept aluminum or copper conductors ranging from 3 AWG to 300 kcmil. Ensure conductors are torqued to the specifications printed on the breaker label.
What is the ambient temperature calibration for this breaker?
The QR22B100 is calibrated for operation in a 40 degrees Celsius ambient temperature. Operating the breaker in higher temperature environments will require derating in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
How can I manually test the mechanical tripping mechanism on this breaker?
The QR22B100 includes a built-in push-to-trip button on the face of the breaker. Pressing this button manually exercises the mechanical linkage and verifies that the tripping mechanism is functioning properly before placing the panel into service.
