Yes, the QN2200 is the current direct replacement for legacy Murray Type MD-T and MPD2200 main breakers. Siemens retired the Murray brand, and Type QN is the manufacturer-approved equivalent for these older load centers.
What is the difference between the QN2200 and the QN2200R?
The QN2200R features a reverse-oriented handle. The standard QN2200 is used in standard vertical configurations, whereas the QN2200R is required for horizontal mounting in certain meter-mains to ensure the ON/OFF handle operates in the correct direction for the enclosure.
How does the QN2200 differ from the QN2200H?
These breakers share the same physical footprint and 200-amp capacity, but they have different short-circuit interrupting capacities. The QN2200 is rated for 10 kAIC, while the QN2200H is a high-interrupting variant rated for 22 kAIC.
How much physical space does the QN2200 take up in a load center?
When mounted on the bus as a branch breaker or back-fed main, this Q-frame breaker occupies four standard 1-inch pole spaces across two rows (two spaces on the left and two on the right). It can also mount directly into dedicated main breaker retainers in compatible Siemens meter combinations.
Do I need a hold-down kit if using the QN2200 as a main breaker?
If you are installing the QN2200 as a back-fed main breaker on the panel bus, the National Electrical Code (NEC) requires a manufacturer-approved hold-down retainer to secure it. If it is being installed in a dedicated main breaker position with factory-installed retainers, an additional kit is not required.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
