This breaker is designed for use in Siemens PL, ES, and EQ series load centers [1.1.3], as well as Siemens meter combinations and panelboards that accept Type QP plug-on breakers. It is also structurally compatible with older ITE load centers.
Can I install the Q290 in a legacy Murray electrical panel?
Yes. Because Siemens phased out the Murray brand, Type QP breakers are UL listed for use in legacy Murray Rock Solid and meter combo load centers manufactured after January 2002.
What discontinued circuit breakers does the Q290 replace?
The Siemens Q290 is the official direct replacement for the discontinued Murray MP290 (Type MP-T) circuit breaker. It also replaces older ITE Q290 models.
How much panel space does the Q290 require?
As a standard 2-pole Type QP breaker, it occupies two 1-inch spaces, requiring a total of 2 inches of space on the load center bus bar.
Is this breaker approved for HVAC equipment?
Yes, the Q290 is HACR rated, making it suitable and UL approved for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration motor loads.
What is the wire temperature rating requirement for the Q290?
Because this is a 90-amp breaker, it is listed for use strictly with 75 degrees Celsius rated copper or aluminum conductors. Only Siemens breakers 40 amps and below permit 60 degree Celsius wire.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
