Product FAQs
6 answers
Which Siemens panelboards accept the HQJ23B175 circuit breaker?
This bolt-on breaker is designed for seamless installation into Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards. It is also compatible with Siemens switchboards, meter centers, and motor control centers.
Has the Siemens HQJ23B175 been discontinued or replaced?
Yes, the legacy QJ frame series has been superseded by the modern QR frame. The direct replacement for this breaker is the Siemens HQR23B175, which offers the exact same form factor, fit, and 65kAIC rating at 240V AC.
What is the difference between the QJ23B175 and the HQJ23B175?
The primary difference is the short-circuit interrupting rating. The standard QJ23B175 is rated at 10kAIC at 240V AC, while the HQJ23B175 features a higher interrupting rating of 65kAIC at 240V AC for systems with higher available fault currents.
Are the trip settings on the HQJ23B175 adjustable?
No, this breaker is equipped with a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. The Long-Time and Instantaneous trip functions are non-interchangeable and cannot be adjusted in the field.
Can the HQJ23B175 be used in reverse feed applications?
Yes, this thermal-magnetic breaker supports reverse feed capabilities, allowing it to be utilized as either a main breaker or a branch subfeed device in compatible Siemens distribution equipment.
Are field-installable internal accessories available for the HQJ23B175?
No, internal accessories for the legacy QJ frame are factory installed only. If you require field-installable accessories such as auxiliary switches or shunt trips, you must upgrade to the newer QR frame equivalent, the HQR23B175.
